George Washington, On war, in a statement of 1785

By Steve Straub On April 6, 2011 · 27 Comments · In George Washington

My first wish is, to see this plague of mankind banished from the earth, and the sons and daughters of this world employed in more pleasing and innocent amusements, than in preparing implements, and exercising them, for the destruction of mankind.

It is impossible to eliminate war as a tool of the state. For war is the business of the state. Sun Tzu, The Art Of War.

In my opinion yes, but it must be now as the advancement in technology has created a true do or die situation. Its use against us is obvious. This may indeed be our final chance at a free world.

With all due respect to Washington’s legacy, while an admiral thing to wish for, it’s completely unrealistic to believe we will ever see a time when no country is armed. It is deadlier to be unarmed than armed in this day and age.

I don’t think he believe that one day, we won’t need to be armed. I think this was an intro to taking peoples children to war and he was opening with a wish that he would never need to do this. If anyone knew that being armed is the best policy, it was George Washington.

Wars will end when Governments stick by their constitution and adopt a foreign policy based on peace, commerce and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none.

War as a tool of the State will be eliminated when there are no more opponents for it. At that time, it will become a tool of control of its citizenery.

I watch new chicks – day one, all peaches and cream with their incessent chirping. Day 2 – pecking, Day 3 more pecking. Its their nature to find order and dominance…Man is the same. Cooperations for Economic development is taught as a college course – being a bully is what you learn in kindergarden. Until that trend is reversed – man will continue to clench his fist before extending his open hand.

Until everyone can be happy with themselves and be happy with what they have or have not there will be war. Until all men can put aside their petty differences, including religious differences, there will be war.

A noble and peaceful thought that is no more than wishful thinking. Man, as long as God allows this world to exist, will be engaged in conflict somewhere, with varying degrees of intensity. Some treat war as a religion as some religions need war for expansion.

He shall judge between the nations, and shall arbitrate for many peoples; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

At Our Lords Appearing He and only He will bring lasting eternal peace, all
mankind even very human nature of greed lust envy hate will be changed in the twinkling of the eye! THIS IS STILL GODS WORLD
and He Said If It Were Not So He Would Have Told Us.
