    Some people can’t handle the truth, so they believe what they feel to be true.

    The truth does not make you free. The truth makes you unpopular and may end up with a fate not unlike Bradley Manning.

    If you tell the truth about anything, someone will be mad because they want to hear something that will help them with their lies. Look at our leaders in Washington, they will promise you everything you want to hear, but when elected they do what ever the want.

    2 Timothy 4:2-4

    2. Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

    3. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

    4. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

    There are goals that are attainable through human endeavor. Truth predates and supersedes us.It is not attainable by human effort, though striving for it is prerequisite. Our efforts are being monitored by a Loving God (who created the substance of the universe by truth) and enjoins us silently, assisting us without impinging our free will. This is the reward of freedom, knowing the truth and the inexhaustible road it forges, in this life and worlds to come if we pursue it.

    If you always tell the truth, you will never need a good memory :)

    Thanks David.
    Which allows me to tell this story.
    I was discussing scripture with a fellow worker once and he said, “I don’t like that. That shouldn’t be in there.”
    I responded, “Hey! I didn’t put it in there. If you have a problem with it, please take it up with the author.”

    I would rather know the ugly truth than believe a pretty lie, though I know that is not true of everyone. Once you know the truth, you can deal with things. It is good our Founders preferred the truth to the pretty lie that Britain was our loving mother or the lie that slavery was the proper order of things.

The Federalist Papers admins do a wonderful job of going through our founding documents (and sometimes others) to find pertinent, timely and always thought-provoking pieces. I have discovered a new admiration for Patrick Henry from their work! Thank you, admins! - Lisa Hoppman
