It’s hard to believe how incredibly insightful our third president really was. It’s almost like he saw Barack Obama approaching in the distance.

In his minds’eye he DID see future tyrants….hence the separation of powers and the limitations placed on the president by the constitution .(Including the provisions for impeachment)

The more I read him, the more I discover him, the more I admire him. This man is really a reference at the scale of humanity. In my opinion, doubtless your greatest president.

Well, not sure, maybe I was wrong with this word “humanity”, maybe the right word is “mankind”? Sorry for my poor English, i didn’t have the chance to learn it at school.

Pardon, sil vous plait. Your english is very good, especially for a foreigner without formal schooling in it. In this case, ‘mankind’ and ‘humanity’ may be used interchangeably.

Oh, thank you very much for your reply and your explanations. Actually, i was in doubt after thinking about the Apollo 11 mission, this plaque “for all mankind”. Very nice to you. Thanks again.

The Federalist Papers admins do a wonderful job of going through our founding documents (and sometimes others) to find pertinent, timely and always thought-provoking pieces. I have discovered a new admiration for Patrick Henry from their work! Thank you, admins! - Lisa Hoppman
