Thomas Jefferson called the Federalist Papers the best commentary ever written about the principles of government and even though more than 200 years have passed it’s still the best.

The challenge is the 85 Federalist essays are written in an old style of English  and most Americans will never take the time to go through these magnificent documents and it’s a shame.

To make these important documents easy to access we went through all 85 essays and pulled out the most important passages and organized them by topic.

Listen to what others have to say:

- “The Federalist Papers is a challenge for the average 21st century college graduate. Thankfully, The Federalist Papers Project has published an easy to understand document which categorizes key quotes from the Federalist Papers. I endorse this for anyone to get … especially if they want to truly understand what it means to be “We the People.”

- “These quotes demonstrate the depth of thinking that our Founders had. Our Founders, through these quotes, continue to advise, guide and teach us if we will heed these words. Great tool and an inspiration.”

- “The Essential Federalist Papers” is a great resource. On every important political topic you can quickly find the insights of the founding fathers. If you’re new to the founding fathers, you’ll be surprised at how timely their ideas and thoughts are. If you’re already acquainted with them, you’ll have a great reference tool. Highly recommended for everyone who has eyes to read and wants to know what America is all about.”

Dude, if the fact that these documents were written in a time when slavery was the norm and the writers, along with nearly everyone else, was in line with the times is your biggest hangup over the monumental importance of these documents, you really need to just admit you have a rascist bias and it’s your favorite subject over liberty and get it over with or finally give it a rest. I really don’t believe these writers were so much better than people today because they still had legal slaves, so get the hell over it. I grew up in a black town and am as far from rascist as one is likely to be abke to get, but after about 5000 times, one gets tired of hearing it. I and no one in my family ever ownef slaves so I’m not going to be browbeat into self-loathing shite guilt. Give it a rest. The tactic has been used to death.

There are no such thing as rights. We are organisms that exist on a planet where only the fittest survive. What right does the guppy have in a world of sharks? Let’s get this straight. YOU have no rights. YOU have an opportunity to exert your influence on the world. That is not a right, it is a privilege. Be grateful that you have any say in this world at all. Rights… I have a right to a full moon every night, don’t you agree?????????????

My only concern is what papers did you leave out and why? This would be helpful as well. If you could provided an index and rationale as to why you left something out that would be beneficial. What was the criteria used in determining what made the Essentials and what did not?
